Scaling New Heights of Compassion
Intec Micros and Zyxel Networks' Charity Climb of Snowdon for Birmingham Children's Hospital
In a world where technological advancements often take centre stage, it's truly heartening to witness our colleagues prioritising compassion and community welfare. Intec Micros and Zyxel Networks have joined hands to embark on a remarkable journey - a charity walk of Mount Snowdon in Wales, all in the name of supporting Birmingham Children's Hospital. This inspiring event will not only highlight our commitment to corporate and social responsibility but also showcases the power of collective action in making a positive impact.
Climbing for a Cause: Birmingham Children's Hospital
On the 16th of September 2023, employees from Intec Micros and Zyxel Networks will gather together, donning their hiking gear and empowered with enthusiasm, as they prepare to scale the heights of Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales. However, their motivation extended beyond the thrill of conquering a physical challenge. The charity walk is dedicated to raising funds for Birmingham Children's Hospital, a renowned institution that provides essential medical care to young patients and their families.
Intec Micros have always demonstrated a deep-rooted commitment to giving back to the community. Our participation in the charity walk exemplifies our dedication to causes that directly impact the lives of individuals in need. By rallying our employees, supply chain partners and customers to support Birmingham Children's Hospital, Intec Micros once again showcases how the corporate world can be a force for positive change beyond its business endeavours.
Zyxel Networks, a prominent player in the networking and communications industry, echoes a similar sentiment with their mission of bridging technology and compassion. Their involvement in the charity walk illustrates the company's belief in aligning technological innovation with humanitarian values. By contributing to the cause, Zyxel Networks emphasizes that the pursuit of progress should also involve fostering social responsibility.
Chris Buchanan, UK Sales Manager of Zyxel Networks said, “Zyxel Networks and Intec Microsystems have a great partnership, and it is a pleasure to work together. Of course, when they approached us to take part in the Snowdon Climb it was a no brainer. It is for a fantastic cause that we are happy to support and hopefully raise as much money as we can for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.”
Snowdon: A Metaphor for Challenges and Resilience
Scaling Snowdon is no small feat. The mountain's towering heights mirror the challenges faced by young patients and their families at Birmingham Children's Hospital. The journey up the slopes symbolises the resilience that these families exhibit in the face of adversity. As the participants will make their way to the summit, they find inspiration not only from the breathtaking views but also from the shared purpose that fuels their every step.
John Lester, Sales Director of Intec Micros added, “This charity climb carries a message of unity and hope. The joint efforts of Intec Micros and Zyxel Networks remind us that even in the midst of our busy lives and demanding professions, we can make a positive impact. Through both organisations commitment to the charity walk, we hope this sends a powerful message about unity, empathy, and the capacity for change that resides within each and every one of us.”
The charity walk of Snowdon undertaken by Intec Micros and Zyxel Networks shines a light on the remarkable potential of the corporate world to drive meaningful change. By dedicating our time, energy, and resources to supporting Birmingham Children's Hospital, we hope to prove that success need not be defined solely by financial gains. Instead, we demonstrate that success can be measured by the positive influence we exert on the lives of those who need it the most. As we reflect on this inspiring endeavour, may we all be motivated to seek out opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others, just as we are trying to do.
Katie Harris, Corporate Partnerships Officer at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “We wish the team at Intec the best of luck when taking on Snowdon this month. We’re so thankful to them for choosing to support our charity in this way and look forward to working in partnership moving forward. Together they will help us make a difference to over 100,000 sick kids who are treated at our hospital each year."
